Cat's Claw

Cat's Claw plant is considered a valuable resource and is protected in Peru. The indigenous peoples of South and Central America have used Cat's Claw two thousand years or more. Although scientific research has just recently begun to explore its benefits, many cultures have used this herb for hundreds of years. The use of this woody vine dates back to the Inca civilization. More recently, cat's claw has been used as a folk or traditional remedy for a variety of health conditions.

Studies show it may have positive effects on the body's immune system. Many have been known to use cat's claw in combination with different plants and natural products to increase its effect. Cat's claw is believed by Amazon jungle dwellers to reduce pain, as well.

It has long been used as a homeopathic treatment. The inner bark of cat's claw is used to make liquid extracts, capsules, and teas. Preparations of cat's claw can also be applied to the skin.
