Lobelia Powder

Lobelia is native to eastern North America. The active ingredient in the lobelia plant, lobeline, was thought to be similar to nicotine in its effect on the body. The herb was frequently smoked by Native Americans, and used to treat respiratory disorders, and as a purgative.

Lobelia has a long history of use in connection with maintaining respiratory health. Lobelia has been used topicaly as a natural remedy for bruises, insect bites, and poison ivy irritation.
